Jailbreak news of the week: Dealing with dangerous repos in Sileo, Vidnerix, Oneko, & more…

Weekly jailbreak news roundup.

We follow the latest news so that you don’t have to, and we share it with you as it happens to keep you apprised. But for everyone who prefers a weekly digest, this piece is for you.

In this post, we’ll discuss everything new in the jailbreak community spanning the week of Monday, June 24th through Sunday, June 30th.

Important stuff from this week

Sileo & dangerous repositories

Sileo 'Dangerous Repo' pop-up.

Sileo will sometimes warn you if a repository you’re trying to add might be dangerous.

Sometimes, this is because the app is trying to protect you, but it can also be a false positive.

You can learn about what this means and what you should do about it in our full piece.

Oneko

Screenshot examples of Oneko jailbreak tweak.

Oneko is a fun new jailbreak tweak that adds an interactive cat to your screen that follows each and every one of your taps.

The cat sometimes falls asleep, but when you begin tapping, it will chase your taps in virtually any interface on your device.

You can learn more about Oneko and how it works in our full review post.

SecretShot

Screenshot Snapchat on iPhone without informing

Ever wanted to take a screenshot of or record your display while viewing someone else’s snap that they sent to you in Snapchat, but wanted to do it without tipping them off?

If yes, then the SecretShot jailbreak tweak is for you. This tweak lets you do these things without notifying the other person, so you can be sneaky.

You can learn more about SecretShot and where you can get it from in our full review post.

Vidnerix

Vidnerix screenshot examples.

Vidnerix is a new jailbreak tweak that lets you download video files from the native video player in the Mobile Safari web browser.

The tweak works seamlessly alongside the native download manager, but unlocks new features that stock devices simply don’t have.

You can learn more about Vidnerix and how it works in our full review post.

Solstice

Solstice dark mode theme.

Solstice is a new theme for your Home Screen that makes your app icons better-equipped to look nicer with Dark Mode turned on.

Not only does it provide a plethora of Home Screen app icons, but you also get a fair share of preference pane icons for the Settings app. You can apply this theme with SnowBoard.

You can learn more about the Solstice theme in our full review post.

MutePlay

Apple Music icon with graph icons to show different sound levels

Sometimes you’re just trying to mind your own business and listen to music or a video on your iPhone, when all of a sudden, you start getting bombarded by incoming notifications.

Those notifications often come with notification sounds that temporarily disrupt your media playback. But not anymore, at least with a jailbreak tweak called MutePlay.

You can learn more about MutePlay and where you can get it from in our full review post.
